About

Hi! I’m Emily Brooks a MA Children’s Book Illustration graduate from Cambridge School of Art, currently based in Norwich. Whilst I love drawing in museums, hiding in libraries, hoarding paper and lunchtime, my first love is storytelling. Inspired by my observational drawings and memories, my stories portray everyday life through the perspective of a quietly extraordinary character.

I illustrate mainly traditionally, with some digital techniques thrown in for good measure. In my work, I aim to communicate warmth and humour in a visually playful approach, using dynamic compositions and bold colour choices.
